Mother Orchid with Babies – Phalaenopsis Equestris Hybrid | 2 Babies | Approx. 60cm Tall | 12cm Nursery Pot

Introduction
This Mother Orchid is a fascinating and highly rewarding Phalaenopsis equestris hybrid, prized for its natural ability to produce baby plants, known as keikis, directly from the ends of the flowering spikes. Supplied with three established babies, this orchid offers a rare opportunity to enjoy a living family of orchids growing together from one mother plant.

Equestris hybrids are known for their branching spikes, continuous growth habit, and long-term interest. As the babies mature, they can be left attached for a dramatic cascading display or separated and grown on individually, making this orchid ideal for collectors and enthusiasts.

SHOW POT NOT INCLUDED
This orchid is supplied in a standard 12cm growers nursery pot. Decorative pots shown in images are for display purposes only and are not included.

Important Information
Orchid flowers naturally fade over time. With correct care, equestris hybrids can continue producing new spikes, flowers, and babies. Avoid placing in direct sunlight, near radiators, or in cold draughts. Minor cosmetic imperfections may occur due to the natural growth habit of the plant.

Images are representative only and the exact structure and baby placement may vary.

Care Instructions
Place the orchid in bright, indirect light away from direct sun. Water sparingly once the compost is almost dry and allow excess water to drain fully. Maintain a warm indoor environment with moderate humidity and good airflow. Babies should not be removed until they have developed strong roots if you plan to separate them. Feed regularly with orchid fertiliser during active growth to support flowering and baby development.

Recommended Add-ons
Self-watering plant pot (medium) helps maintain consistent moisture levels and supports healthy root growth for both the mother plant and babies.
Neem oil can be diluted and lightly sprayed onto leaves to help prevent common orchid pests while keeping foliage clean and healthy.
Orchid plant food that we stock supports strong growth, encourages continued flowering, and helps babies establish successfully.
